hi @SwerdlowskAudio,
Thanks for pointing this out. The current version of the VU meter is calibrated per channel, so in dual-meter mode each needle reads the left and right channels independently, with 0 VU referenced to the selected per-channel level. Because of that, if you compare it against a stereo digital meter that shows a combined or summed reading, you may see an apparent offset even though the VU itself is behaving as designed.

So this is likely a metering-mode difference rather than a simple calibration error. We’re now considering adding selectable metering modes in a future update, such as L/R, Average, and Sum, to make this behavior clearer and better match different workflows.
Hey @shinytheshiny, thank you so much for the purchase and for taking the time to write such detailed feedback — it really means a lot and gives me both direction and inspiration for where to take GroupMix next.

#1 (more resolutions), #2 (longer crossfade), and #3 (lock row) are definitely on my radar for the next update. The lock row idea especially is a game-changer for the randomize workflow.

As for #4 (Rack support) — I totally see the potential there, but it's a pretty different interaction model from Group Track switching. Rather than stretching GroupMix beyond its core purpose, I'm thinking this would work best as a separate dedicated device down the line. Stay tuned!

Thanks again for the thoughtful input 🙏
the subtracks of audio and midi are both supported. @dayjob
