Does this only work in Live 12?
Not getting result in 11
@irishmos unfortunately I made it in 12.
Also I’m not sure if it’ll work in windows. Unfortunately I don’t have a machine to test with.
aight word
oh well
Sometimes I want to capture the tail artifacts of fx when the transport stops
For some reason the device isn't receiving audio when I run it. It is making a sample file and loading simpler with it, but they're just empty wav files. The device's meter doesn't react to input audio either. Love this idea though, I've been looking for something like this for a long time!
Thanks for these bug reports Buddyfingers. and Irishmos. I think it's probably some file situation. I'll make a debug version and update the device to help investigate. it works great for me so I know it's possible
Does the meter light up with the audio chosen by the menus?
@buddyfingers @irishmos I re-uploaded. any better? if still having problems, try looking at the max console and copy the issues.

View -> Show Max for Live Window
It's monitoring audio sources. Not creating a wav file in the current project files or creating a simpler.
Any logs?
It's just saying Record to Simpler: No such object
any chance you could share a screenshot? and also share your computer specs, version etc? and you re-downloaded the latest?
Screenshots aren't option here. I've often thought this community should have a forum with more options for devs/users to interact.
Using latest version of .amxd

Catalina OS 10.15
Intel
Live 11 Suite
Max 8.5.8
@irishmos I have a feeling it's a limitation of max msp 8 which is bundled with Live 11. if you want, you could try downloading max 9 and pointing ableton to it https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209070309-Using-a-separate-Max-for-Live-installation

Also I'm moving the latest release to https://github.com/ben-juodvalkis/Simpler-Record/releases
I'm basically out of luck because I can't run higher than this on Catalina
OMG! Finally someone did it!!
Incredibily straighforward and flexible, amazing little device!!!
works like a charm on Live 12.3.2 on Mac
A big Thank you!!
just did a little QOL update which allows it to either use an external audio input or the normal device input
It’s posible to make optional auto load simpler in current track with recorded audio? I wonder if works on Push3SA, add to master track and use it just as audio recorder
@rickster can you please explain more clearly?
Like a step by step list of exactly how you would want it to work
@rickster unfortunately I don’t have a push standalone to try it with. Feel free to send me one to test!
another update to optionally create a new midi track for the simpler
@Prebentious works great now, thanks!
Instead of a new midi track, could this be set up in a drum rack, so I could set each pad to record on the first press, and play the sample on the second? I don't mind some setup beforehand, but this is a workflow that I really miss in Live!
@RRR cool idea.
It’s definitely doable, but might be complex.

Might require something like selecting the pad, turning on hot swap, and loading the sample.

I doubt think I’ll look into it, to be honest, but you might be able to hire someone from the maxforlive discord or something.

But I could give it a shot if you wanted to pay me…
Definitely fair, but I'm afraid I'm a student at the moment!
