Device Overview

Name/Version: RhyGeneratorBUDDY MK2 1.0
Author: hatefish
Description: The RhyGeneratorBUDDY is a great maxforlive companion of the Hornet RhyGenerator
(https://www.hornetplugins.com/plugins/hatefish-rhygenerator/).
The RhyGenerator can generate 16 different Euclidean rhythm patterns and assigns them to 16 different MIDI channels (e.g. instruments).
Unfortunately all internal MIDI -in our beloved Ableton Live- is merged to channel one.
This means that all the 16 RhyGenerator tracks can ONLY be sent to one MIDI track (e.g. one instrument) within Ableton Live.
Here comes the RhyGeneratorBUDDYMK2 to help.
RhyGeneratorBUDDYMK2 (RGBuddyMK2) comprises 2 maxforlive plugins: the RGBuddyMANAGER and the RGBuddyRECEIVER.

How to use it:
1. In Live create a MIDI track and add the RGBuddyMANAGER. With the “FIND” button locate the RhyGenerator plugin (in VST format);
2. Create another MIDI track and add the RGBuddyRECEIVER. Select the MIDI channel you want to receive from the RhyGenerator.
3. Put a MIDI instrument in after the RGBuddyRECEIVER and that’s all… just press play in Live

such a slick idea!

I feel live VCV Rack as a vst in ableton really really needs something like this!

That beloved Merged MIDI! love it Ableton!!!! lolz ;)

Congratulations, really brilliant.
I didn't think it was possible to use max for live for this. For my curiosity, I tried using RhyGeneratorBUDDY with another plugin (InstaComposer from WA Production) and it works. It does have a limit, though. Only one note passes through each midi channel, so the chords don't work. Is this a limitation that cannot be solved?
