Device Overview

Name/Version: MultiMapper 1.01
Author: mothergarage
Description: For version 1.02 and later please head over to http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/1791/multimapper

8 dials you can map to any midi-mapable control in Live. Looks like the eight macro devices you usually get. Just a tweaked version of the Multimap device which comes with M4L, so credits go there.

Version 1.01: Added dynamic naming of the dials. Thanks to Lokua.

Version 1.02: Added preset saving and randomizing.

Known Issues: Push doesn't display thedynamic names.

Hi great device but please can you make it that the name of each parameter mapped is shown for each macro? would be awesome.

Sorry, but AFAIK the short name attribute of the live.dial object can't be changed dynamically. I could add a textbox for each control though, which you could name yourself, but this wouldn't be displayed with a MIDI controller like push. For the time being I recommend to group the device, map the dials to the equivalent macro dials and name those.

the short-name can be changed dynamically quite easily.

Or without looking at the linked device, send the message

_parameter_shortname newnamehere

You'll need to edit the mapping abstraction and include an outlet to send the mapped parameter name out.

if you need any more help email

Wow, thanks Lokus! I'm still a noob what M4L concerns. And a Google search didn't come up with a solution.

Thanks a lot for the heads up!!

So - lek, expect a new version soon ;)

Sorry for getting your name wrong, Lokua

Hey Mothergarage - is there any update on how to get Push to display the Dynamic names after you have renamed a multimapper control.

I have been trying to look into how to do this myself but it is really hard to find any conclusive info on the subject.

It sounds like it should be a really simple thing...but I have a feeling it isn't?

I asked on cycling74's forum but didn't yet get an answer on the subject of renamed controls.
