cphn cerreisser is a stereo Max for Live audio effect for drive-based compression, saturation, and aggressive dynamics shaping. It is a behavioral digital model inspired by the broad operating class of fast analog FET/VCA-style compressor/saturators, with original naming, original UI, and a gen~ DSP core.

The device is intended to be used like a processor you push into. The IN control feeds both the audio path and the sidechain detector. At IN 5 the gain staging is calibrated around a -18 dBFS nominal workflow. Raising IN drives the input amplifier, increases detector activity, produces more gain reduction, and makes the nonlinear color stages more audible. OUT trims the processed level after compression and color.

The device loads as an unprocessed dry pass-through:

This means the device can be dropped onto a track without immediately changing the sound. Turn BYP off to engage processing.

Calibration
-----------
The processor is calibrated around a -18 dBFS nominal workflow at IN 5 and OUT 5. Around nominal level, moderate ratios should apply gentle gain reduction. To get the dramatic behavior, raise IN, choose higher ratios, or use Nuke.

The model is behavioral, not component-level. Exact proprietary circuitry, part tolerances, and factory calibration data are not available. The goal is musical similarity in control behavior: drive-dependent compression, broad-to-hard ratio behavior, opto-like 10:1 release, aggressive Nuke behavior, detector filtering, stereo linking, and selectable harmonic color.
