Here is the fixed link for the floating example of buffer shuffler:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3579622/FLOATING%20BUFFER%20SHUFFLER.amxd

I was think it might be nice to have a floating switch that returned the view to a track, specific screen, window, device, and possibly even auto-mapped. That would be just as cool as a floating bay (several of these) but that would be a major project. In the meantime, I might take your excellent patching and create a version of this that has a floating bay of maybe 4 of these.

One question- While adjusting the loop length, the range seems to meander out of range. Always. Is there something I ma missing? Perhaps a method of binding this a specific range?

I just watched the video. It's fantastic!
I understand the benefit of having it float around- so that you can visually work on multiple tracks at once.
I could see a bay of these being in one track or a floating device... which gives me an idea! I will link it back to here once I find or make what I am thinking.

I recently posted about this on the Ableton forum:
http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=131576&start=15

Make things float by encasing them in a patcher with at least a dummy inlet inside it, so that you can attach a pcontrol-object to it. Then use a toggle/live.button sent to a select with the attributes 0 / 1, connected to the relevant messages "open" and "close," leading into the pcontrol

Here is an example; a floating "Buffer Shuffler":
