Device Overview

Name/Version: Performable 1.0
Author: lucaderosso
Description: This instruments generates a random sequence of 8 x 32 events that will start being fired when the global transpose is on. It was designed specifically to work with drum racks to work with glitch sounds, but given that it’s generating notes, you can technically put it in front of any instrument.

CONTROLS:
- NEW Button: generates new pattern
- % Slider: sets the % chance of the matrix to be filled
- Length Knob: sets the length of the pattern 1-32
- Voices Knob: sets how many rows are firing events 0-8
- Shift Knob: shift the midi notes by increments of 1.

ABOUT THIS VERSION
This is the first iteration of this instrument, making it limited but also easy to explore and build upon. Inside the patch you’ll see more controls that I haven’t surfaced yet, as I’m not sure they are the right features I need to be able to play this sequencer in live improvisations.

Thank you everybody who downloaded the Performable. I'd love to hear from you any type of feedback that can help me with the next steps. Cheers!

i absolutely love this and will probably use this ALLOT from now on. the only idea i had for a future version is a toggle that allows the creation of a new random pattern at the end of the current pattern's cycle. and also a snapshot system(if you hear a great pattern, it can be saved!). also a 'random merge' button that would create the new pattern based around the old pattern instead of 100% new, if that makes any sense. regardless, great work sir!

Thanks for the marvelous device. There seems to be a bug in it. It crashes my machine within 5 minutes of use. When I open the device, it reports on Max console that 'matrixctrl: cell coordinate(s) out of range'. I don't know whether the odd breaking behavior follows from this, but I thought you would like to know. Otherwise it's a fantastique device. Keep up with the good work! :)

Seems that if you change uzi 15 to uzi 8 (rows, under NEW button) fixes the out-of-range problem.

And it seems that it also fixed the crashing problem. :)
