Device Overview

Name/Version: Grainery 1.0
Author: opticon93
Description: Hi,

This is a "Live"ified version of Brendan McCloskey's Granary Max device. One of the great things about it is that it does Pitch-Shifting independently from Time-Stretching using "Vanilla" Max objects.

Drop a sample, twiddle the numbers.

It receives Midi to control pitch and to trigger the amp envelope. If you want, you can turn off the Midi pitch control. Smoothiness (in ms) tries to get rid of possible clicks caused by retriggering the envelope too much.

The Restart button causes the Play Head to return to the beginning of the selection on each midi note

I'm afraid of extremely loud sounds, so I added a bypassable limiter to the works. Disabling the limiter drops the main Vol by 20db (because I'm a chicken), so you might need to turn it back up. On the other hand, the incredible, crazy sound process seems to drop the overall volume sometimes, so it seems like a pretty good way of increasing the volume.

It can also Freeze sounds.

The "Gain .9" and "Normalize" buttons are semi-permanent. They only affect the current RAM. They don't affect the original, on-disk sample, but they also can't be undone in the current Live set. When you re-open the Live set, you will need to re-apply them.

I always dug Brendan's Granary, but I'm not getting any audio from this live device...

Oh My God!. I'm so sorry, I forgot to freeze it. It should be fine now.
