Device Overview

Name/Version: Note Trigger Step Sequencer 1.0
Author: Prebentious
Description: This is similar to my Parameter Sequencer (http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=106)

except that in this case the sequence is driven by note on events rather than by the timeline.
Enjoy!

VERY COOL!!!! thanks for sharing

these two devices are too good to be true!

thanks for sharing

Nice tool, you can even use abletons midi assign function unlike many other devices. Wish it would rember the parameter it's controlling when you recall a preset though.

THis is really incredible ,THank you for sharing.
but the" device chooser " does not save with the project.
Please update!

great

I really love this device, and the beat-stepping one as well, they're so useful, but I can't get either of them to modulate certain parameters of operator. specifically, i cant get it to modulate filter frequency... I choose the parameter in the pulldown menu and nothing happens, and if I go to operator I can still change the frequency knob manually (i.e. it hasnt been mapped anywhere). also, I have noticed that often times when switching from one modulation destination to another, the device will fail to map to the new destination. thanks so much for this device! hope youre still updating it! :)

This device is great. Does anyone know of other similar devices driven by note on events rather than by the timeline?

Hello,

I went ahead and made the changes to this device so that it now remembers all the values one had it set to when you reload the Live set. I also made a few cosmetic changes, and had it create default values on loading that are more friendly. You can set the range of a device parameter and it will scale to that range. The default values are 0 and 1 since most Live controls are in that range, but it gives one the option to set it to whatever values you want. I can send it to you so you can post it here, and I was going to post it myself (with attribution) if that's cool with you?
